Sky is welcoming a new generation by introducing Sky Glass Gen 2, making Sky’s smart TV even smarter.
The successor to 2021’s Sky Glass comes with a host of new additions and enhancements to bring an improved device that delivers what Sky calls the “ultimate viewing experience”.
Sky Glass is a unique offering from the company, packing together Sky TV with a 4K HDR TV and an integrated soundbar.
The new Gen 2 iteration is set to bring upgrades to the TV without costing more than the existing offering.
Sky Glass Gen 2 enhancements
All enhancements on the surface seem minor but they all add up to produce a brighter, more vivid picture.
Sky Glass Gen 2 is keeping the 4K Quantum Dot panel that was found in the Gen 1, which in itself delivers a big boost in colour and brightness. Paired with advanced HDR and precision contrast enhancements, you can expect darker darks and brighter brights.
Better yet, you don’t have to worry about changing settings to get the perfect viewing experience. Sky Glass is labelled as an auto-adjusting TV, with capabilities of figuring out what you're watching and adjusting the picture and sound.
All picture modes have been refreshed to be able to bring out the very best in every moment, so whether you’re watching Sky Sports, Sky Cinema or any of the various other Sky channels, the picture will be tailored to suit and produce the best looking visuals.
Expect richer sound quality, as Sky has re-engineered the Gen 2 to project even richer 360° cinematic sound.
The Dolby Atmos sound system has been upgraded from six to seven speakers, featuring a soundbar and dual subwoofer built-in, all with the intention of producing a richer bass with improved vocal clarity.
Smart TV made smarter
Sky Glass is a smart TV in all respects and the Gen 2 is poised to better it further in the smart department.
Using the newly rebranded Sky OS, the system is capable of adapting to the user, learning their watching habits to effortlessly curate the homepage to display the best entertainment for them, providing more ways to find new content to enjoy.
You also no longer need to speak into the remote; Sky Glass is all ears from the moment you utter the phrase, “Hello Sky.” Simply say that, then what you want to watch, and it’ll come up. Hands free, from wherever you are in the room.
Finally, Sky Glass is labelled as an auto-adjusting TV, with capabilities of working out what you're watching and adjusting the picture and sound.
With all this coupled together, you can expect a high-quality device that will deliver the perfect viewing experience.
