We live in a golden age of entertainment, with great new movies and TV shows being released all the time. There’s so much, in fact, that it can be hard to keep track of what’s coming, and what to get excited about.
With that in mind, we’ve put together a list of the biggest and best trailers released this week. And it’s a bumper week, full of absolute bangers, featuring everything from superheroes to private detectives and dystopian marching.
Movies
Superman

In cinemas 11th July
There’s a lot going on in this latest trailer for James Gunn’s hotly anticipated new take on the Man of Steel. A fun interaction between Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan) and Clark Kent (David Corenswet) - which reveals that Lois is well aware of Clark’s other identity - plenty of action and, of course, lots more Krypto the Super Dog.
There are also some hints at the plot, which seemingly sees Superman face all manner of threats, including giant monsters, warring armies, mysterious black-clad supervillains and Nicholas Hoult’s evil industrialist Lex Luthor.
July can’t get here fast enough.
The Long Walk

In cinemas soon
Based on one of Stephen King’s earliest stories (published in 1979 under the pseudonym Richard Bachman), this dystopian thriller follows the contestants of an annual televised contest in which 100 boys walk US Route 1.
If they stop or slow below 3 mph, they are killed by their military escorts, and the last remaining walker wins whatever they desire.
It’s a great, high-concept idea - classic King - and this belated adaptation has some impressive talent attached, including veterans like Mark Hamill (Star Wars), newcomers like Cooper Hoffman (Licorice Pizza) and David Jonsson (Alien: Romulus) and director Francis Lawrence (most of the Hunger Games films).
Honey Don’t!

In cinemas 22nd August
A new crime comedy from legendary director Ethan Coen (Drive Away Dolls, Fargo), this darkly funny neo-noir follows small town PI Honey O’Donahue (Margaret Qualley) as she investigates a murder with ties to a nefarious local church.
This looks just as fun and poppy as you’d expect from Coen, and has the added bonus of Chris Evans playing against type as a scumbag church leader.
Nobody 2

In cinemas 15th August
Bob Odenkirk’s (Better Call Saul) unlikely action hero returns in this bone-crunching sequel. This time, assassin-turned-family-man Hutch Mansell is just trying to enjoy some vacation time with his wife and kids.
But, wouldn’t you know it, he once again runs afoul of some gun-toting bad guys. Connie Nielsen (Wonder Woman) and Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future) return from the first movie, joined this time by Colin Hanks (Fargo) and Sharon Stone (Basic Instinct) on bad guy duties.
The Conjuring: Last Rites

In cinemas 5th September
Paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren (Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga) return for one final case, based on the pair’s real-life experiences.
This is the fourth Conjuring film, and the ninth overall in the wider Conjuring universe (which includes the likes of Annabel and The Nun), so you know what to expect at this point - creepy dolls, cadaverous grins and some wonderfully period-accurate outfits.
TV Shows
Peacemaker

Season 2 on Sky Max from August
Christopher Smith (John Cena) returns to once more murderously fight for peace in James Gunn’s other DC property. Somehow, this season will fold the characters and events of The Suicide Squad and the first season of Peacemaker into Gunn’s new DCU.
How? Who knows. Does it matter? Probably not. Season 2 looks to have the same anarchic sense of humour that fans have come to expect, with the added bonus of cameos from incoming DCU characters like Green Lantern (Nathan Fillion) and Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced).
Ironheart

Season 1 on Disney+ from 24th June
From the other side of the superhero divide comes Ironheart, spinning the character of supergenius Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne) out of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and into her own miniseries.
You may or may not recall that, in that movie, Riri managed to cobble together her own Iron Man-style suit of power armour, and assisted the Wakandans in the fight against Namor’s underwater army. Now she’s falling in with mysterious, magical gangster The Hood (Anthony Ramos) and trying to forge her own path.
